Mozart Violin Sonata K301 in G: Transcribed For Cello
This two-movement sonata, one of Mozart‘s most popular, is presented here in its original key. Only the cello parts are offered because any standard piano accompaniment part can be used (see www.imslp.org).
In neither of the two movements have any notes been changed from the original violin version (apart from the octave down transposition). The “Easier Versions” always stay in the Neck Region. To achieve this, the higher register passages have been transposed down an additional octave.
FIRST MOVEMENT
It is quite possible to “mix and match” between the “Edited Version” and the “Easier Version”, playing the easier version for some passages and the original version for others.
Here below is a downloadable play-along audio of the piano accompaniment, thanks to the YouTube channel of “Piano Accompaniment Concerts”. This accompaniment has been edited to give us a two-bar piano introduction so that we can know when to start without an invasive click-track:
SECOND MOVEMENT
This is a delightful Minuet and Trio movement, with the Trio in the minor key and probably with a somewhat slower tempo.
Here below is a downloadable play-along audio of the piano accompaniment taken from YouTube with kind thanks to Jorge Nava. This accompaniment has a two-bar piano introduction added and does not repeat the long second part of the Minuet:
