Eastern Europe: Traditional

We can see at least three distinct categories in traditional popular (folk) music from Eastern Europe.

  • GYPSY music, which tends to come more from the south of Eastern Europe (most notably Rumania, Bulgaria and Hungary).
  • KLEZMER (Jewish) music, which tends to come from the more northern areas of Eastern Europe.
