Keyboard Music Transcribed for Cello + Accompaniment
When we transcribe for cello a piece that was originally written for keyboard, the cello will normally be given the “melody line” and we will need another instrument to play the other notes. Sometimes this “other instrument” can be the same keyboard instrument but it can also be harp, guitar etc. And in the contrapuntal works of Bach, the other instrument can be another string instrument, in fact, almost any instrument (see “Transcribing Keyboard Music for Cello“).
